My Story

A True Story

My son passed away on December 23, 2015 by suicide. The journey before and after his death has been far more educational than any program of study (although, I did graduate with my MSE & LPC from FHSU).  The knowledge I gained was first-hand as the experience was real and the nightmare was while awake. My son, Dylan, went from being a straight A student throughout high school to working on an engineering degree at a notable university to suffering from a major opioid addiction. Those that knew him are still in disbelief as this was an outcome no one could have predicted nor would believe. Ironically, during this time, I was working on my counseling degree which included a suicide training course. Even the love for my son and the knowledge I was gaining were not enough to save him.

This is my story now and I wish to share my passion for helping others by using the knowledge Dylan taught me through his struggles with depression and addiction. If you or someone you know is suffering from grief, depression, addiction, suicide, anxiety or divorce, I can help. My goal for my practice is to use my degree and this experience to help each client rise above their suffering and live the life they were meant to live. My fees are based on a sliding scale and will meet your individual financial means.  I follow the National and State Code of Ethics for Counseling.  My story is about suicide. My counseling practice is about helping people with all “matters of the heart/mind”.
